our story
Lonely Parrots is a rising Folk-Pop duo based in the San Francisco Bay Area, made up of singer-songwriters Michael Martinez and Max Embers. Known for their catchy melodies and emotionally honest lyrics, the two artists blend introspection with uplifting messages, exploring themes of love, loss, growth, and self-discovery. Both Max and Michael come from successful solo careers—with appearances on NBC’s Songland and American Idol, and collaborations with artists like Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Ryan Tedder, Naika, and John Oates. They first met at Berklee College of Music in Boston, studying under industry icons Kara DioGuardi and Paula Cole. Since then, they’ve built a grassroots following through house shows, backyard concerts, and artist residencies including the acclaimed 20Summers series in Provincetown, MA. While working towards their upcoming original debut release as Lonely Parrots, the duo launched MORF (Music on Regenerative Farms)—an initiative bringing live music to sustainable farms, raising awareness for the regenerative movement and celebrating environmental projects through the power of music.
